In his SILENT VIOLENCE series, Rikio Ohue effectively utilizes his own created original colors in forms such as deformed women, children, screaming faces, sunken eyes, and clinging animals to express feelings of anger, fear, unease, and despair that are caused by hidden violence of everyday life. The simple imagery he seeks to express has its presence further heightened through the repetitive effects of silkscreen printing. Furthermore, by making extensive use of collage techniques, he reaches to swiftly and precisely bring vivid images to life upon the canvas.
